GleSYS

The Halon platform runs on GleSYS, a Swedish cloud server provider. They can assist with the deployment, or follow this guide.

Getting started

1. Creating a virtual machine
2. Boot from a live CD ISO of our choice
3. Connect to the console using the HTML5 client or VNC
4. Configure networking
5. Download and write the system image
6. Reboot

If you choose a BSD live CD, downloading and writing the image should be something along the lines of

# ftp -o - http://dl2.halon.se/vsp/halon-xx-xx-amd64.img.gz | gzcat | dd bs=16k of=/dev/da0
